TDI, Efficiency Driver for BASTIDE Logistics
Bastide Group, specializing in the sale and rental of medical equipment and home healthcare services, relies on TDI's suite of modules to optimize all its transport operations.
Founded in 1977 in Nîmes by Guy Bastide, a trained pharmacist, Bastide Group has over 40 years of expertise. Drawing on its experience and diverse range of offerings, Bastide reports a turnover of €530 million in 2024 and is currently pursuing its development in Europe and the Americas. As France's leading integrated network in its sector with more than 140 physical stores, the company also operates an online store specializing in medical equipment, paramedical supplies, and incontinence products. It also offers professional customers a full range of equipment: consumables, hygiene and disinfection products, care and dressings, diagnostic and self-monitoring tools, as well as medical devices.
Tracking flows with precision using TDI
To support this multichannel operation, Bastide relies on a robust and agile supply chain. Once products are sourced from Europe and Asia, the company stores approximately 6,000 product references across three main platforms. From its facility in Gallargues-le-Montueux in the Gard region, the group handles the distribution of consumables (incontinence products, respiratory masks, dressings, compresses, etc.) across 12,000 m² of space. A second warehouse in Garons, near Nîmes, specializes in the repair, distribution, and installation of medical devices (oxygen concentrators, beds, wheelchairs, etc.). Finally, in the West, in Brittany, Bastide also operates a site in Dol-de-Bretagne (35):
"We manage a very large number of flows, both inbound and outbound, and therefore need to track them precisely, which is why TDI solutions became part of our logistics," explains Laurent Capel, Supply Chain Director at Bastide. With nearly 22,000 parcels shipped each month, Bastide must balance speed, reliability, and traceability to meet the demands of the medical sector and guarantee optimal service to its customers.
Equipped with Hardis Group's Reflex WMS, Bastide discovered TDI in 2024 during an upgrade of its warehouse management software. The company chose to implement Exlabel, a web services application enabling the printing of shipping labels from all carriers integrated into the tool. It quickly rolled out Exintouch as well, a solution designed to inform recipients about the status and progress of their shipment delivery; the Experform BI tool; and finally the Extracking parcel tracking API.
"Production went live in July 2024 after implementing our Reflex project across all three sites. We first connected Exlabel to our Reflex WMS, then paired it with Extracking to track our parcels via the TDI portal. We then installed Experform to obtain statistical data on the service rates of our various carriers, and Exintouch to improve the information and experience we offer our customers," detail Louis Callabe, Operational Performance Manager at Bastide, and Yann Bouveret, Project Manager.
Rapid and tangible benefits at every level
Through TDI's suite of modules, Bastide has experienced numerous benefits: time savings, better data reliability, reduced error rates… Overall, the group has seen simplified operations, better visibility into transport activities, and complete control over all its processes.
"TDI has also enabled us to build stronger connections with our customers. Beyond our B2B activities, we sometimes handle B2C operations, and the data collected through our solutions allows us to offer greater visibility and security to our customers. This is a key element for us, especially in the medical sector where timing, quality, and accuracy of deliveries are essential. Finally, we sometimes need to deliver within 24 hours throughout France while factoring in our carbon footprint. TDI is also there to help us track parcels that aren't delivered on time so we can react quickly," explains Laurent Capel.
"This collaboration has enabled us to build an effective, scalable solution that meets our expectations despite the complexity of our processes," he concludes.
