TDI Enhances Gouiran Beauté's Transport Activities

Gouiran Beauté, a distributor of hair and beauty products and a partner of renowned brands such as L'Oréal, Schwarzkopf, and Wella, has chosen TDI to optimize its transport management.

For nearly 60 years, Gouiran Beauté has been providing professionals and consumers with 8,500 high-quality hair and beauty product references. The company manages its logistics across three main activities. The first involves replenishing its 22 national stores, accounting for 65% of its order volume. The second activity focuses on direct deliveries to hair salons, representing 20% of its operations. The last activity revolves around e-commerce, encompassing deliveries in France and neighboring countries and making up the remaining 15% of its operations. The company operates from a 2,000 m2 logistics platform in Montpellier, in addition to having 1500 pallet spaces with a subcontractor a few kilometers from its primary site to manage its logistics.

A simple, agile and scalable management solution

In terms of transportation, Gouiran Beauté collaborates with several carrier partners, each with its own workstation. This complex organization requires multiple configurations and specific data flows between its ERP system and its carrier partners' solutions. In 2017, the logistics department recognized the need for improvement and sought out companies capable of assisting them with this challenge. Gouiran then adopted TDI's Expedito solution, which integrated shipping information, produced labels and transport documents, and consolidated orders while also verifying delivery addresses. The company also opted for the Extracking module to monitor package delivery. "The solution proposed by TDI perfectly matched what we were looking for. Their teams were attentive. The ease of implementation, operator flexibility, and adaptability over time in a rapidly changing industry eventually convinced us," explains Lionel Pech, Director of Operations at Gouiran Beauté.

In total, nine carriers are integrated into the distributor's tools. "This allows us easy access to all our partners' services, provides constant tracking to measure our business performance, and offers complete visibility to our customers regarding their delivery statuses," says Yannick Pasquer, Logistics Manager at the company. Gouiran Beauté has observed a significant increase in productivity. Today, the distributor processes 5,000 orders and ships 7,000 parcels per month. "Due to real-time package information, our service quality has improved as well. We've been using these solutions daily for over six years, and we do not regret our choice," continues Lionel Pech. "Simultaneously, TDI supports us in our carrier development strategy. Currently, we are working together on the evolution of our packaging and parcel configurations," concludes Yannick Pasquer.
